Design Services

Feral Crayon specialises in designing clothing with specific purpose and end use. We design functional garments and ranges including outdoor apparel, performance sportswear, workwear and technical lifestyle clothing.

We are primarily concerned with product creation - taking you from creative direction to final design or stepping into any part of the process along the way.

This can include:

Exploring new concepts
Setting design direction or following your established design directives.
Developing design briefs / following briefs you have set.
Advice on range building.
Creating colour palettes.
Researching and sourcing fabric options.
Designing garments.
Producing full technical drawings.
Reviewing prototypes and advising on updates through to the final prototype.

Feral Crayon do not source factories/suppliers or manage garment production; these are separate specialisms and we are happy to make recommendations from our network of those who can cover these areas if required.

No two projects are the same so the starting point is a 30 minute call to understand the scope of your project, which services you need, the required outcomes and your time frame.

Project Exploration and Mentoring Call.

This service is designed for people at the beginning of their journey into creating an apparel brand or first clothing range.

It is an opportunity to discuss your project idea with a creative professional and draw upon 20 years of industry experience in design and product creation.

Over a 90 minute call we can:

Outline the different elements that need to be considered when creating a clothing brand.

Identify your particular areas of expertise and where external input may be required.

Establish areas in need of research / review any research already undertaken.

Pinpoint areas that require further exploration or analysis.

Discuss what makes a good design brief.

Create an action plan to enable you to move forward with your project.

This service is a stand-alone call, for a one-off fee. There is no obligation to follow up and use any other Feral Crayon services.

Education Services

We have experience mentoring young people and working with students and can offer

Guest lectures around designing for purpose, technical apparel and the creative process.
One to one / group sessions for students getting to grips with their own creativity whilst studying fashion or related subjects.
